Abode Plastering - Terms and Conditions
Scope of Work
The specific scope of work, including areas to be plastered or rendered, materials, and any additional services, will be detailed in a written quotation and agreed upon by both parties before commencing work.
Client Responsibilities
Access: Provide clear and unobstructed access to the work areas. Ensure the room or area to be plastered or rendered is empty of furniture, fixtures, and personal belongings.
Utilities: Ensure adequate electricity and water supply are available on-site.

Protection: Protect any items or areas not included in the scope of work, such as flooring, fixtures, and adjacent rooms.
Horizontal Protective Stone Elements (Rendering Projects): When Abode Plastering is contracted for rendering work, the client/builder is responsible for ensuring that all horizontal protective stone elements at the top of walls (including coping stones, capstones, flagstones, or similar) are installed with a minimum 50mm overhang prior to rendering, and that a damp-proof course (DPC) extending past the inside edge of the wall, is correctly installed.

Projects over £1000:
A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking and cover initial material costs.
The remaining 80% balance is due within 7 days of completion.

Variations and Additional Work
Any variations or additional work requested will be subject to a separate quotation and agreement. Payment for such work will be due as per the agreed terms.
Materials
The cost of materials is included in the quotation unless otherwise specified. Any additional materials required due to unforeseen circumstances will incur a separate charge.
Delays
We strive to complete projects on time, but delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances. We will keep you informed of any schedule changes.
Cancellation
If you cancel before work begins, the deposit may be forfeited.
If you cancel after work has commenced, you are liable for all costs incurred up to that point, including materials and labour.
Guarantee
We guarantee our workmanship for 12 months from the date of completion, provided the plastered or rendered surfaces have been properly maintained and not subjected to any damage or alterations.
Important Note Regarding Artex: While we employ industry best practices and take every precaution when skimming over Artex ceilings or walls, it is important to note that the inherent nature of Artex can sometimes lead to unforeseen issues such as delamination or cracking, even after a seemingly successful application. We cannot, therefore, provide a guarantee against these potential occurrences when working on Artex surfaces. We will, however, try everything we can to minimise the risk of any such issues arising. In the event that delamination or cracking does occur, please note that plasterboarding may be the only viable solution to rectify the issue, and this would incur additional costs.
Liability
We will take reasonable care to protect your property during the work. We are not liable for any damage or loss caused by circumstances beyond our control, such as fire, flood, or theft.
Water Ingress (Rendering Projects): When Abode Plastering is contracted for rendering work, Abode Plastering will not be held liable for any damage resulting from water ingress if the horizontal protective stone elements at the top of walls are not installed with a minimum 50mm overhang (prior to rendering) and a damp-proof course (DPC) extending past the inside edge of the wall, as specified herein.
Disputes
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to seek a mutually agreeable resolution. If unresolved, the matter may be referred to mediation or arbitration.
